Fachgruppe Rehatechnik

(1998 bis 2003)

Group objectives:

The objectives were to record problems in the area of rehabilitation technology, to formulate goals to improve the situation, to develop strategies and transform these into projects to be defined.

Projects:

The demonstration centre "Selbständig Leben" ("Living Independently") was run as a pilot project in Ingolstadt: the opening ceremony was on 17/01/2001 in Klinikum Ingolstadt. The project was supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Employment and Social Care, Families and Women, by Bayern Innovativ GmbH and by AOK Bayern.

"Selbständig Leben" - first demonstration centre anywhere in Bavaria, at Klinikum Ingolstadt

In the future, rehabilitation is set to gain even more in importance, due to demographic changes within the population, the increasing mobility of people and the increased risk of accidents associated with this. Living independently is an issue of importance for those involved in rehabilitation and also contributes to reducing costs in health care. Technological innovation and improved organisation of the collaboration between partners provide new solutions and approaches. On 17/01/2001 at Klinikum Ingolstadt, the first demonstration centre was presented to the public. Numerous firms presented newly developed products, from voice-controlled domestic technology to an electronically adjustable, multifunctional bed. Opening up the variety of technical possibilities enables individual, patient-related solutions to be found. As a demonstration and information centre, this establishment is available to all those affected and interested in Bavaria.

The aim of the medical department for rehabilitation at Klinikum Ingolstadt was to significantly shorten the stay of patients in clinics and rehabilitation institutions in the key project phase through targeted individual handling and advice.

Bayern Innovativ GmbH supported this project from the beginning, in a financial and non-material way, allowing partners such as the Bavarian State Ministry for Employment and Social Care, Families and Women and AOK Bayern to be recruited.
